As of January 1, 2009 a new law (Public Law 409) will take effect allowing an adult adopted person born in Maine to access an original sealed birth record. We encourage adult adopted persons (born in Maine) and birthparents to familiarize themselves with the new law and its potential impact. St. Andre Home, Inc. will continue to work to provide information and support to birthparents and adult adopted persons throughout this process.
